Happiness

blog1

What makes you truly happy? Happiness to me is sitting in solidarity with a cup of coffee and reading a good book. Its expanding my mind with deep intellectual conversations. It’s being who I am with no censors, and no walls. It’s complete honesty without fear of how someone reacts. It’s being surrounded by people who encourage one another. It’s people who will celebrate with you regardless of if they think it’s stupid, or not good enough, or could be better. It’s people who will let you cry and not turn it back to their feelings. It’s feeling like you mean something to someone rather than what you can do for them. Its pillow talk with your spouse, and quiet coffee mornings. It’s playing a board game with the kids or taking a walk in nature. It’s long drives down country roads. Its serving others that can never repay you. It’s doing something really hard and finding your peace. That is happiness to me.

Happiness doesn’t not exist with the all me mentally. It can’t thrive in hostile or negative environments. It’s freedom from negative and toxic environments and people. Happiness is at stake when you become so beat down that you feel worthless.

My friends. Seek your happiness. Don’t be afraid to walk away from things that block your joy. Life is too short to not be happy. We all go through rough seasons, but the permanent qualities within a relationship that are toxic will forever rob you of joy and happiness. These qualities are so embedded in the character of toxic people they will never change.

YOU are amazing. YOU are worthy. YOU deserve to have boundaries respected. YOU deserve happiness. Don’t let anyone/anything dim your light. Be grateful for the challenges because doing hard things brings big blessings. Life should be the challenge, not people. We can always find something to be thankful for even when it’s something small. Today, I’m thankful the Lord is opening my eyes.

Much love to y’all.
