You are worthy
Grab some coffee. Let’s have a heart to heart.
Some time not that long ago, something was said to me that was heartbreaking and shattered my world to the point of feeling unworthy and left me not knowing how to come back from it. I had heard those words before, and similar words to them time and time again. I felt completely unworthy. Unworthy as a woman. Unworthy as a wife. Unworthy as a mom. Unworthy as a human. Unworthy in everything I am.
To feel unworthy is an ugly feeling. I realized, I’ve spent most my life feeling unworthy. I talk about that a lot. We all have a past with some baggage, that leaves us damaged and feeling unworthy of anything good. Unpack those bags ladies.
I’m gonna tell you something. You are worthy. Your doing some hard work. Your worth is not wrapped up in how others view you and how they show appreciation to you. You are worthy and the most high God says you are worthy. He calls you by name and says YOU are worthy.
Your worth is not wrapped up in that job promotion, or the respect of your coworkers.
Your worth is not wrapped up in how popular you are at church.
Your worth is not dependent on whether you have kids or no kids. (Or how many kids you have!)
Your worth is not wrapped up in whether you’re married, divorced or single.
Your worth is not wrapped up in if you are rich or poor.
Your worth is not wrapped up in if you are fat or thin.
Your worth is not wrapped up in your race or religion.
Your worth doesn’t depend on the affection a man pours on you.
Your worth doesn’t depend on whether you have an education or not.
Your worth is not wrapped up in popularity.
Your worth is not wrapped up in whether someone can gives you their full attention to hear what you have to say or simply wants you to listen to them.
Your worth has nothing to do with whether your child can read at 3, or if he’s in the corner of a playground eating sand.
Your worth isn’t dependent on whether your breast or bottle fed.
Your worth isn’t wrapped up in some label that can be stored. It’s there. It exists within you right where you are and if people can’t see your worth, that is their problem, not yours. Someday, someone will see your worth and love you right where you are rather than hide it away from the world behind closed doors. Until then, love yourself. Know that you are SO worthy of every good thing.
Check it out. Jesus thought we were worthy enough to die on the cross for. That’s pretty damn worthy.
